Winter Sports Base

Rankings- How to move?

The primary goal of Wintersportbase.com is to create objective, measurable, and universal rankings related to winter sports. Currently, we are focusing solely on the development of ski jumping. Over time, we also plan to expand the website to include other winter sports. The current rankings can be divided into:
  • Historical Ranking—a ranking that includes all jumpers who have ever competed in any level of competition. The purpose of this ranking is to identify the best athletes in history and to allow for comparisons between any athletes.
  • Power Ranking – a ranking that includes all athletes who have been active for at least the past year, excluding those who have announced their retirement. The ranking aggregates the results of the athlete’s last 20 competitions; these competitions must not be older than one year. The ranking shows the world’s strongest active ski jumpers.
  • Fly Historical Ranking—a ranking that includes all ski jumpers who have ever competed in ski flying competitions. The purpose of this ranking is to identify the best athletes in the history of ski flying and to allow for the comparison of any ski flyers.
  • Fly Power Ranking – a ranking that includes all ski flying athletes who have been active for at least the last 2 years, excluding those who have announced their retirement. The ranking takes into account the athlete’s last 10 ski flying competitions; these competitions must not be older than 2 years.
In the selection panel of the rankings menu, you can choose the type of ranking, the athletes’ gender, their nationality, and their active status. This allows you to find a wealth of information about jumpers of a specific nationality, as well as to manage rankings by gender and whether an athlete is still active in the sport.
